Wagering has its own framework
Changes discussed for online casinos do not automatically apply to New Zealand sports or racing wagering. Confirm the current wagering position using official product specific guidance.
TAB related arrangements and restrictions on other providers require their own review. Avoid presenting an offshore sportsbook as locally authorised merely because its website remains accessible.
Identify the product before the provider
A racing pool and a fixed odds sports bet have different pricing and settlement mechanics. Read deductions, abandonment rules and payout conditions for the particular product.
If the operator's legal position is unclear, pause before paying. Local currency and familiar sporting competitions are marketing features, not evidence of permission or accessible dispute resolution.
